World War Z 1-3

World War Z is a collection of short stories gathered by an unknown character, presumably called the Interviewer. The interviewer's stories are collected from different effected areas, and are incredibly emotional and graphic. The collection was deemed "too emotional" and rejected. The interviewer decides to take his work elsewhere and publish a book.

Part one delves into the origins of the undead. Doctors in China were sent to a remote village to evaluate sick victims. What they found was far more disturbing than they had imagined. One patient, Patient Zero, had gray, clammy skin, scattered eyes and a violent temper. Patient Zero was so aggressive that he ripped his own arm off in an effort to attack. Thats when the doctors both concluded that the virus they were dealing with is incredibly dangerous.

Part two starts in Langley Virginia, where the CIA headquarters is located. The interviewer asks CIA director Bob Archer of the threat in China. Archer explains that China was attempting to cover the threat by using the political unrest in Taiwan to divert attention. Interviewer also learns of Israel's quarantine.

So far I have really enjoyed the book. The interview style commentary and storytelling are very interesting and the whole forshadowing of the events to come is also really interesting. One of the few books I've been assigned to read and enjoyed.
