The main focus in the three articles is quite similar, they all discuss how violence in todays entertainment affect todays society. The only difference being the different types of entertainment, such as: video games, movies, and music. in all cases discussed, there were many studies done to show both positive and negative affects.

The first article, Violent Video Games: The Effects on Youth and Public Policy Implications, discusses how children who play video games with significant amounts of violence in them, can be effected negatively in the real world. Three types of studies were done including many experimental studies, correlational studies, and longitudinal studies. In the several studies that were preformed there were many different outcomes because no two studies had different contributing factors.

The second article, Weinstein, Tarantino and the Standoff Over Movie Violence, discusses how an actor did not want to make anymore violent films because of the effect it was having on the people who watched them, which in return was effecting society as a whole. The actor is getting more than enough feedback on the situation both good and bad. Society has different opinions on the topic of violent entertainment affecting society.

The third article, Columbine:Whose Fault is it?, discusses a musician who is getting negative feedback for the songs he writes and sings because some people believe that the people who listen to his music will become violent. The musician explains that he does not mean for his music to cause harm and violence in the world, that people are misunderstanding the words and meanings of his songs, as he states in the article.

There are many different opinions on weather violent entertainment affects society and there are still many studies int the process, but as for now everyone has different opinions and the studies already completed cannot prove that violent entertainment has caused for there to be more violent people in the world.

Subject: Violent Video Games

The Author was telling about the different researches that have been done, on how to determine if video games effect children.  There are different types of children and these video games have different effects on these children.

He tells about how the video industry has exploited the fact that the more violent the video the better it sells.  So their ratings are higher.  Therefore their making more and more violent video’s.  Some children react differently towards the more violent videos.

There is a reliably study which shows that violent video games has a reliable measure of aggression or aggressive related behavior.  And should modern society take action against reducing children’s exposure to the more violent videos.  And he talks about parental guidance.

The research studies didn’t really prove anything.
