Turning the time and home front usa

Juan Chacon

Turning the tide was a bout how all around the world diffrent countries were using diffrent and controversial ways to create safe zones and maintain some rough fourm of government.  In this chapter we hear from all sorts of military and government officials as they talk about how their were people and plans that were implemented that they didn't agree with but could see the importance of the plans that were being put in to place so that the greater part of a population could be maintained and looked after. The extreme such as the south african plan were only those who had helpful traits would be sent to the safest zone and then others would be put in to safeish zones.  How ever extreme it was; it was affective and it got the job done.  Some thing that really made  a point with me was the part in india were they were blowing up the paths in the mountians and the soldier couldn't do it then the general came along and the explosives didnt work and then that general sacrificed his life so that so many more people could live.

Home front U.S.A talked about the internal stuggle happening within the U.S and how the people of this country thought at first all they had to do was head north that, that would solve there proplems the zombies would freeze and they wouldnt have to worry any more and they could live there lifes as usual.  Then it moves on to how the U.S military fource kind of leaves the people behind.  Then they set up the safe zone behind the rocky mountians and try to rebuild and work there way back out to the other parts of land in the contenental U.S.  The main part of the goverment was hanging out in honolulu and trying to solve problems that were on the main land.  One big point that stood out to me was when the us govenrment had the lobotamizer the intrenching shovel and the double sided war axe combo that such ingenuity could come out of this conflict was astonishing.
