A part that i really found intriguing and interesting was when the Japanese boy escapes from his parents apartment in Kyoto. He climbs down the balcony below him after salvaging the sheets from the apartment. On the forth floor he finds and old mans residence. He was a WWII veteran, and The boy takes his former sword from his room after failing to find weapons in any other apartment before it. After reading the next interview, who happened to be the old man whose room he found, you learn that they both meet up with each other in the future, and we can assume they work together to survive. The irony in this is what I found most intriguing.
