The ending of the book pretty much is about how everything ended pretty poorly and how everyone around the world handled it. The interviewer gets stories from everyone, those who suffered, thoughts on the overall war and how much it changed everything.
A part that really stuck out to me was the use of dogs, since the dogs can smell the beginnings of becoming a zombie. But it was sad to see that not all the dogs could handle something like that and went crazy. The whole process just seemed sad to me like them being trained at such a young age and being used as decoys.
