Last 2 -- LaValle

The whacko explains to the Interviewer that he beat the zombies when the US war had ended because he didn't want his administration to fall. They knew the fighting wasn't over, but they also wanted to give their people the chance to go home safely and get settled, to calm down. The overseas campaigns are moving along, and the war still wasn't over, but the people seemed to have learned their lesson (DO YOUR PART). Up in Canada Jesika's story goes along with the saying "bad things can happen to good people". Later the radio kept chattering with idiotic men and its amazing that these dimwits survived but not intelligent good people like her parents. Good thing she's not resentful. At the end there is no joy that everything is basically over. Everyone seems so emotionally and physically, and mentally drained. I wonder if things ever go back to normal.

One of the main themes in this book was fear. It was very different for me to read this type of book. I am more of a Wicked, Twilight or 50 Shades girl so something about zombies was way out of my comfort zone. It was a good book however, dry in some parts and hard to follow hence the lack of a main protagonist. However, it went by fast and group discussions always helped! :)
