The ending of the book the author gather stories to include different aspects from the end of the war, things that happened to the environment. Complete changes in certain countries such as religion or economic outcome. He also includes stories from the people how they think the Z war went. If it is truly over and if anyone can be considered a true survivor. He also talks to those who mentally suffered in the war.
The section that really stuck out to me was the bit about Sean. How after the war he became addicted to killing after killing so many zombies. However he goes about trying to find legal and lawful ways to kill people even suggesting at the end he would rather kill himself than just become a serial killer. This brings to mind that some people just couldn't handle the mental strain the Z war had. However they are still just good people.
